Chisinau, 16 September /MOLDPRES/ - The day of 17 September, when the Moldova Partnership Platform will be organized in the country, will be dedicated to a common message: a European, safe and prosperous Moldova and the country’s friends will contribute to this joint effort. The spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, has made statements to this effect, providing details on the agenda of the event.

Daniel Voda said that those over 65 delegations participating in the event would come to the Palace of the Republic starting from 7:30 in the morning. In the beginning of the Platform, as usual, we will have signings of memorandums of understanding and financial packages with diverse organizations, such as, for instance, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), as well as partners from Germany, the European Union, Norway, Canada and other institutions.

The Platform is organized under the patronage of Prime Minister Dorin Recean, who will greet the audience and will convey the messages of the event’s inauguration. Afterwards, President Maia Sandu will set the general goals, i.e. the country’s priorities in her programmatic speech.

„We, the Moldovans, have a saying: ‘’Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are.’’ Or we, at the fifth edition, want, concretely, to connect more Moldova to the European Union, in order to outline to the partners our intention to make more investments in infrastructure, to reduce the energy vulnerability and the high costs through investments in the energy efficiency. This means that we have buildings which waste less energy, so that the citizens pay less in invoices and we boost the economic growth, which we everybody need, as a sound economy is the one which generates growth, despite the challenges dealing with the war,’’  Daniel Voda said.

The Moldova Partnership Platform is built with the support of the partners which financed it: Romania, Germany, France and Moldova, whose diplomacy heads will be in Chisinau. Moldova’s officials, among which Energy Minister Victor Parlicov, Economy Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Justice Minister Veronica Mihailov-Moraru and Secretary General of the Government Artur Mija, will have topic-related presentations. ‘’ At the same time, the heads of the delegations will have speeches too.

„One again, we prove that Moldova is a real provider of stability, a country where we edify the democracy and transform opportunities in well-being for each citizen. Moldova is changing. At the previous edition, Moldova was a state exposed to vulnerabilities and we needed urgent support, in order to cope with the bad consequences of the war in the region. Or now, once we consolidate our efforts and integrate into the European area of peace and well-being more efficiently, we are no longer the ones who only demand, without giving anything instead. We are reliable partners for the states which participate in this initiative,’’ Daniel Voda noted.

The Moldova Support Platform is an initiative of Romania, Germany and France, which is aimed at generating immediate political, financial and material assistance, as well as deep expertise for the process of democratic reform on behalf of the institutions and member states of the European Union, G7 countries, international financial institutions and international organizations. The goal of organizing the Conferences is to mobilize, concentrate and coordinate the political, technical and financial support of developed countries for Moldova.

The first edition of the Moldova Support Platform took place in Berlin on 5 April 2022. The second one was held in Bucharest on 15 July 2022. The third edition of the Conference took place in Paris on 21 November 2022 and the next edition was held in Chisinau on 17 October 2023.
