Moldovan PM attends Moldova Partnership Platform

Chisinau, 17 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- We gathered together to celebrate our achievements, as well as to build plans for a better future. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made the statement at the opening of the 5th edition of Moldova Partnership Platform held today in Chisinau.

The Prime Minister gave a speech in both English and Romanian. He spoke about current challenges and near-term priorities.

"The government must manage immediate interventions to eliminate the socio-economic consequences. We are aiming for substantial and long-term growth. Thus, we prioritize infrastructure, energy, sustainable and high-value agriculture, as well as expansion of the small and medium-sized enterprise sector," he said.

The official emphasized that as we move closer to European membership, connectivity with the single market is essential, as is the development of our country's capabilities. Recean said that the government will focus on the development of sectors and the support to farmers. "I would like to include in our discussion a new initiative - a fund for development and solidarity for the agricultural sector, which would provide assistance to farmers," he said.

The Prime Minister showed solidarity with Ukraine. He noted that "our country continues to be affected by the border war".

The official also welcomed the presence of President Maia Sandu at the event. The prime minister noted that "without the head of state, it would not have been possible to obtain the support".

The 5th edition of the Ministerial Conference of Moldova Partnership Platform is being held today in Chisinau. The event is attended by 65 delegations led by ministers, deputy ministers and state secretaries of the partner countries, representatives of the diplomatic staff and international organizations.

The first edition of the Ministerial Conference of Moldova Support Platform took place in Berlin, Germany, on April 5, 2022. The second edition took place in Bucharest, Romania, on July 15, 2022. The third edition of the Conference of took place in Paris, France on November 21, 2022. The next edition was held in Chisinau on October 17, 2023.
