Moldovan education minister says teachers' salaries to be increased as of 1 January 2025

Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/ - The teachers’ salaries will increase. Education and Research Minister Dan Perciun has given assurances to this effect, noting that the increases are to be made starting from 1 January 2025.     

„This is a correct claim of the Trade Unions, which I discussed with them at a meeting two weeks ago and we will endeavour, in continuation, to ensure the increase in salaries of the teachers. Last year, we have a growth of 15 per cent of the reference value and other increases will come next as of 1 January 2025 traditionally, once the new budget is approved,’’ Dan Perciun said at a today’s news conference.    

The last growth of teachers’ salaries was enforced as of 1 January 2024, when they increased by 15 per cent. At the same time, in October 2023, the teachers benefited from a one-off payment of 5,000 lei and the non-didactic staff – from a one-off payment of 3,000 lei.
