Minor infringements by drivers to be sanctioned by warning

Chisinau, Sep 18 /MOLDPRES/- Driving a vehicle with an unreadable license plate number or a license plate placed in violation of the standard will no longer be penalized with penalty points. The points will also not be applied for operating vehicles with technical defects in the braking system or in the steering mechanism, lighting or signaling devices, as well as for operating reused vehicles without the required authorization, the government's communication department has reported.

According to the draft amending the Contravention Code, violations that generate insignificant consequences for the security of citizens will be sanctioned only with a warning.

This will be possible in cases where drivers meet several conditions. The warning will be given only if, during the year preceding the commission of the offense, the person has not been sanctioned for a similar offense and has paid the fines imposed for previous offenses.
