Chisinau, Sep 20 /MOLDPRES/- The Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community of Moldova /ARBOM/ continues to care for and provide support to Bulgarian veterans. Thus, following the social project, launched two months ago in the city of Taraclia in cooperation with the Foundation for the support of veterans and pensioners of the Republic of Moldova, another hundred veterans from the region received financial support worth one thousand lei each.

"I think that for veterans this help is important, because they need our support," said Victor Alerguș, president of the Foundation for the support of veterans and pensioners of the Republic of Moldova, at the second meeting with veterans of Bulgarian ethnicity.

The beneficiaries of the aid expressed their gratitude for ARBOM's gesture.

"There are many sick people who are bed-ridden, suffering from cancer and in great need of support and help," said Ivan Grosu, one of the representatives of the Association of Maritime Fleet Veterans "Alexandru Marinescu", who added that this help is all the more important as food and services have become more expensive recently. Nicolai Curtev, a labor veteran from the village of Valea Perjei, Taraclia district, also noted this.

"The attention given to veterans who have more than 50 years of work in different spheres of activity in the Republic of Moldova is of particular importance. I wish you, the representatives of ARBOM, continued success and we thank you for the attention given to pensioners," Curtev added.

The leadership of the Taraclia district, who also wanted to congratulate and send a message of gratitude to those who have dedicated a part of their lives so that the next generation could live in peace and better conditions, highly appreciated the intentions of ARBOM members to help improve the quality of life in the communities of the region.

"We are pleased to have such a close collaboration with ARBOM. The members of this Association pay special attention to the ethnic Bulgarians in the Republic of Moldova", Taraclia district's head Lazari Dermenji said.

"ARBOM provides support to all categories of people from the ethnic Bulgarian communities, not only in Taraclia district, but also all over the country. As promised, we will continue to organize these meetings in support of the veterans," said Alexandr Borimecicov, director of the Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community of Moldova.

By the end of the year, every two months, ARBOM aims to provide one thousand lei in financial aid to 100 veterans from the Taraclia district and other localities populated by Bessarabian Bulgarians.
