Contract servicemen could travel free in all types of transport

Chisinau, Sept. 20 /MOLDPRES/- National Army contract soldiers will benefit from more social guarantees. Parliament approved a draft law in the first reading today.

The initiative contains a number of additions aimed at improving the social protection of servicemen and their family members, making military service more attractive, eliminating inequalities and discrimination, etc.

It is proposed that contract servicemen of the Armed Forces should have the right to free travel in all types of local road transport, except taxis. Another provision is that contract military personnel should have the right to participate in externally funded development projects within the military structure in which they serve.

The draft amendment to the law on status of military personnel was set up by the Defense Ministry.
