Deputy PM to attend 79th session of United Nations General Assembly

Chisinau, Sep 22 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi will participate in the high-level segment of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly and other related events on September 23-27.

Popșoi will take part in a number of thematic multilateral meetings, including the plenary segment of the Future Summit, the interactive dialogue on strengthening multilateralism for international peace and security, the summits on addressing the existential threats posed by sea level rise and on antimicrobial resistance, as well as other events.

The head of diplomacy will also hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from various regions of the world, heads of UN specialized entities, regional organizations and representatives of international non-governmental organizations.

The event is the UN's most important meeting where world leaders debate the various challenges facing the international community and set the priorities on the organization's agenda. Each year, heads of state and government or foreign ministers represent member states at UN General Assembly sessions and other events mandated by the UN Secretary-General or UN member states.
