GOVERNMENT BUILDS // Modern solutions for rehabilitation of Hincesti-Leova Cantemir road

Chisinau, Sep 24 /MOLDPRES/- Rehabilitation works on the road R34 Hincesti - Leova - Cantemir have been 60% completed, the State Road Administration (ASD) announced. The project provides modern solutions for the rehabilitation of the road segment which will increase road safety.

According to the ASD, the roadmen are constructing the embankment, on some stretches the asphalt concrete layer is being applied and bridges are being built. "The project envisages modern solutions for the rehabilitation of the road segment which will lead to an increased level of road safety, adjacent landscaping and will have a long service life in favorable conditions for traffic participants," ASD said.

The rehabilitation of this section is essential for the country's economic development, i.e. it stimulates investment, reduces vehicle operating costs, facilitates the movement of citizens by connecting localities and facilitates access to social infrastructure.

The works on this route are part of a larger project related to the rehabilitation of the R34 road: Hâncești - Leova - Cahul - Giurgiulești, with a total length of 83 km, signed between the ASD and the Turkish company OZKA Insaat A.Ș.

The contract has a total value of 56 million euros, as part of the Road Sector Program, and the financial support for carrying out will be provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). "We are moving forward, we are building European roads," says Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spînu.
