Dumitru Alaiba also had a meeting with European Commission's Director-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs Kerstin Jorna. The two officials discussed ‘’the measures on support of the business environment.’’  ‘’Here we talk about the de-regulation, access to financing, reducing the bureaucracy. Another subject tackled represented the industrial policies. We have a clear-cut goal – to increase the industry’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP),’’ Dumitru Alaiba said.

In Brussels, Dumitru Alaiba also discussed with Director General at the European Union’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Gert Jan Koopman. ‘’We analyzed the concrete steps we make, in order to build a modern and competitive economy, as well as the solid support the European Union is providing us to this effect. Another subject approached – the developments in the process of accession to EU, taking into account that one third of the chapters of negotiations are within our competence, of the Economic Development and Digitalization Ministry (MDED). We continue with confidence on the way of reforms and of modernization! We have no time to lose!’’ the deputy prime minister added.
