Candidate of Action and Solidarity Party has discussions with Moldovans from Italy

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - We work to reconstruct the country, so that the people want to remain in Moldova and the departed return home. The candidate of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) at the presidential elections, Maia Sandu, on 27 September made statements to this effect at meetings with Moldovans who live in Italy.     

Maia Sandu informed that, during three days, she would go to seven cities of Italy. The candidate stressed that she hoped to meet an as large as possible number of citizens.  

„I am in Italy – seven cities in three days. Today, I discussed with Moldovans from Milan, tomorrow – ones from Turin, Parma and Bologna and on Sunday I will go to Padua, Verona and Brescia. Our fellow countrymen from Diaspora represent Moldova! We, at home, work to reconstruct the country, from North to South, in villages and cities, so that the people want to remain in Moldova and the departed ones to want to return,’’ Maia Sandu said.      

Maia Sandu reiterated that, at the elections due this autumn, the citizens are to take a very important decision for the country. ‘’On 20 October, we are to take a decision together – all Moldovans, wherever they are – whether we stop at half way or we move forward,’’ Maia Sandu said.   

Maia Sandu will discuss with Diaspora fellow countrymen also the Plan for Moldova, which includes more actions which are to be carried out in the next years.

The electoral campaign for the presidential elections and the republican constitutional referendum, due on 20 October 2024, is carried out in Moldova at present.

Eleven candidates will compete for the office of head of state in all. The electoral campaign ends on 18 October 2024, two days before the polls.
