Chișinău, Oct 20 /MOLDPRES/- "I voted for what I have advocated for all these years - our citizens to live in peace and prosperity, where human life is valued, and rights are observed." Speaker Igor Grosu made the statement today after casting his vote in the presidential elections and the constitutional republican referendum.
Grosu urged citizens to go out and vote. "Most citizens understand how important this moment is. It is a historic and unique moment. I believe in the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, in their clarity and maturity, which they have demonstrated many times. Whenever needed, Moldovans have mobilized both at home and abroad. I believe in my fellow Moldovans," he said.
He expressed full confidence that the elections would proceed smoothly. "From the early hours, we can see that things are going well both in the country and diaspora. Our institutions will intervene decisively if anyone tries to disrupt or create obstacles in the electoral process," he said.
Presidential elections and the constitutional republican referendum are being held in the Republic of Moldova today. Citizens will answer the question, "Do you agree with amending the Constitution for Moldova's accession to the European Union?"
