Chisinau, Nov. 11 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu reacted today to the case of two drones spotted on 10 November on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The head of state said that they "do not pose any danger to citizens, but we still need to be vigilant."

"Since the first day of the war, we have done everything to protect Moldova's airspace, including these acquisitions that we have made were so that we can detect and not have situations that create danger for citizens. These drones do not pose a danger to citizens, but we still need to be vigilant and we still need to acquire the necessary technology to protect the whole country and make all citizens feel safe", Maia Sandu said after today's meeting of the Supreme Security Council.

The Head of State emphasized that "for the time being, these things do not represent a danger for the Republic of Moldova, but the very fact that we have a border war and that drones are flying over our airspace is cause for concern".

On 10 November, two Russian drones were spotted on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Moldova - one in Causeni district and the other in Riscani. The Foreign Ministry said it "has clear information that the drones were launched by the Russian Federation" and called for "an immediate halt to their launch".

The police announced yesterday evening that the drone detected in Fîrlădeni, Causeni was picked up and examined by experts from the Technical-criminalistic and Forensic Expertise Center of the IGP. After initial examinations, it was determined that it was a Shahed type drone of Russian origin and had no explosives attached.
