Chisinau, 14 November /MOLDPRES/ - The procedure of compensation of the owners of the grounds needed for the construction of the 400 kV Vulcanesti-Chisinau Overhead Power Line has been extended in 25 settlements, out of the overall number of 34 ones, or in six out of eight districts of Moldova. Thus, compensations have been already provided for about 84 per cent of the concerned settlements for the expropriation of the title or of the right of the user of the ground.
More exactly, in settlements of the Cahul district, compensations were provided for 97 per cent of the grounds, in the Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA) of Gagauzia – for 90 per cent, in Taraclia – for 96 per cent of the grounds, in Cimislia – for 78 per cent, in Leova – for 71 per cent and in Hancesti – for 17 per cent of the grounds.
The director of the Moldova Energy Projects Implementation Unit (UCIPE), Ruslan Surugiu, said that a string of information meetings had been held in each settlement, in the process of compensation of the expropriated grounds. ‘’We are in permanent touch with representatives of local public authorities, who provide us with every support in the work of the grounds’ owners, with whom we have an individual approach,’’ Surugiu stressed.
For the construction of overhead power lines, the grounds are expropriated permanently and temporarily. Those which are permanently expropriated are meant for the construction of pillars and will be delivered to the state’s ownership and the temporary ones will remain owned by the person, after the construction works are over.
The works of construction of the overhead power line Vulcanesti-Chisinau started in last April. Under the project, the power line will have 503 pillars and will cross eight districts and 34 settlements.
Depending on the regime of the electric energy system, the overhead power line will be able to provide the transit of a flow of up to 630 MVA, being limited only by the capacity of the transformers from the Chisinau station. This might meet the needs of over 50 per cent of the consumption of energy on the period of maximal consumption.
The construction of the overhead power line is part of the project on development of the electric energy system from Moldova. Its value is of 61 million euros, of which about 27 million euros is for the power line’s construction. The project is financed by the World Bank.
