Parliamentary elections in Romania // Over 81,000 Romanian citizens voted in Moldova

Chisinau, Dec. 1 /MOLDPRES/- In the Republic of Moldova, 81,021 Romanian citizens voted in the parliamentary elections held on December 1, according to data of the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania, published after the polling stations closed. The turnout for the parliamentary elections exceeded that of the Romanian presidential elections.
During two days, Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1, offered for the parliamentary elections for Romanians living abroad, 81,021 Romanian citizens voted in the Republic of Moldova, 79 more than in the presidential elections of November 24.
59 polling stations were opened in Moldova. They were located in Chisinau and other localities across the country.
At 21:00, immediately after the polling stations closed, the Center for Urban and Regional Sociology - CURS announced the Exit-poll results.
The Social Democratic Party picked up 26% of the votes in the Chamber of Deputies, the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians - 19%, the National Liberal Party - 15.50%, and the Union Save Romania - 15.50%, according to the exit-poll data for the parliamentary elections conducted on Sunday by the Center for Urban and Regional Sociology - CURS.
The Social Democratic Party obtained 26.10% of the electorate's votes in the Senate, the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians - 19.20%, the National Liberal Party - 15.90%, and the Union Save Romania - 15.60%, according to the exit poll data conducted on Sunday by the Center for Urban and Regional Sociology - CURS, in the parliamentary elections.
The 2024 parliamentary elections will determine the next composition of the Romanian Parliament. 332 deputies and 137 senators will be elected. More than 6,330 people are running for a deputy or senator from 31 parties and 19 national minority organizations. Eighteen parties and two independents have entered the race for the new legislature from the diaspora.
