CSM admitted Prosecutor General's referral requesting consent to prosecute judge

Chisinau, Dec. 2 /MOLDPRES/- Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) accepted today the complaint filed by Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu on the consent to start criminal proceedings against a judge.
The judge is suspected of including incomplete or false data, as well as of failing to include some data in the declaration of wealth and personal interests. The meeting was held behind closed doors, in the presence of Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu and Octavian Iachimovschi, the acting deputy of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office.
The CSM decision was approved with 7 votes in favor and 2 votes against. Thus, the Council gave its consent for the start of the prosecution, while respecting all the rights of the participants in the criminal proceedings, including the presumption of innocence.
