Chisinau, Dec. 5 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament adopted today the rectification of the state budget for 2024 in the second reading. The document stipulates an increase in revenues, as well as a decrease in expenditures and budget deficit.
The draft amendment to the state budget law for this year was set up based on the forecast of macroeconomic indicators, which was revised in October by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, as well as based on the level of execution of the state budget during nine months of the year.
Thus, revenues have been increased by 1.18 billion lei and will exceed 67 billion lei, respectively. According to the authorities, this is due to the economic revival recorded in the second half of the year. Respectively, the increase is mainly due to the rise in wage incomes, as well as in indirect taxes and duties. At the same time, as revenues grew faster than expenditure, the budget deficit was reduced by 1.67 billion lei.
The document also sees a decrease in expenditure by 493.4 million lei, as well as the redistribution of identified savings. Thus, 622 million lei will be distributed for the modernization of the country's road infrastructure and road repair. Another 100 million lei are earmarked to support small and medium-sized enterprises, and 60 million lei will be allocated for the implementation of the national program for the expansion and rehabilitation of forests.
The amendments will enter into force upon publication in the Official Journal.
