PHOTO Two pupils of Moldova work out artificial intelligence innovating project, unveiled at global forum in Poland

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - Pupils Daniela Malancea and Nikita Moglan, along with their teacher Viorica Moglan, from the Chisinau-based Iulia Hasdeu Theoretical Lyceum represented Moldova at the INTEL Future Skills Forum in Poland in early December. They unveiled the MediScan innovating project, which brought Moldova a remarkable victory in the world competition of artificial intelligence, organized by INTEL in last October.    

MediScan uses the artificial intelligence, in order to provide quick and accessible diagnoses, meeting the needs of the patients from isolated areas and backing the activity of the medical staff. ‘’INTEL Future Skill Forum is an annual event of reference, which brings together gifted young people, experts and leaders from diverse sectors, providing a platform of cooperation and exchange of ideas. The forum puts emphasis on the development of competences needed in a technological world under continuous transformation,’’ the authors said.    

In October this year, the MediScan project ranked first at the competition, INTEL AI Global Impact Festival 2024, thus surpassing another 105 teams from all over the world. The project used the Artificial Intelligence, in order to provide quick and accessible diagnoses to patients from isolated regions and medical staff, thus contributing to the improvement of the access to health services in the disadvantaged regions.    

The pupils created an innovating platform, which does not only facilitate the access to information, but also support the users in the process of taking medical decisions. Their task is to inspire with hope and recover the health through the democratization of the access to accurate medical diagnoses.
