More districts to receive school buses purchased with support of Romania's government

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) on 13 December distributed the last nine school buses out of those 69 purchased with the support of Romania’s government. The buses will be brought to schools from Briceni, Causeni, Criuleni, Floresti, Ocnita, Rezina, Soroca, Stefan-Voda and Comrat.   

„The transport means have 17 places each and observe the European standards, being endowed with electronic system of stability control, air conditioning system and steps for climbing/coming down for children,’’ MEC said.   

The mini-buses were bought with the non-refundable financial assistance worth 100 million euros, provided by the Romanian government. The entire consignment comprises 69 school transport units, of which 40 were distributed in last August and another 20 – in October this year.  

Romania also earlier has backed the providing with buses of education institutions from Moldova. Thus, in 2014, Romania’s government provided a donation of 100 mini-buses meant for the transport of pupils; another 95 school transport units were provided to Moldova in 2017.
