International parcel delivery rates to be published online

Chisinau, April 13 /MOLDPRES/- International parcel delivery rates will be published online. A draft law was approved today by the Parliament in the second reading, with the vote of 79 deputies.

The project transposes the EU Regulation on cross-border parcel delivery services, which will allow users of international postal parcel delivery services to consult the tariffs for these services online.

Thus, according to the authors, competition will be stimulated and a more efficient supervision of this sector will be ensured. As a result, unjustified tariff differences and tariffs paid by individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises will be reduced. Currently, high shipping prices for international postal services are one of the main obstacles for online shoppers and e-tailers.

The document was developed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, in the context of the transposition of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on cross-border delivery services.
