Moldovan fine artist exhibits works at Constantin Brancusi exhibition centre

Chisinau, 4 May /MOLDPRES/ - A personal painting exhibition by fine artist Dmitri Peicev today was inaugurated at the Constantin Brancusi exhibition centre, on the occasion of his 80th birthday anniversary.     

The exhibition comprises 125 works made by the author during those almost 60 years of artistic activity.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the Moldovan Fine Artists’ Union (UAP), Florina Breazu, said that this exhibition was a retrospective one.

Dmitri Peicev was born in the Burgugi village, Artiz commune (southern Bessarabia), presently Odessa region, Ukraine, on 19 May 1943. During 1964-1970, he studied at the I. Repin Republican Fine Arts School and in 1970-1975 Peicev continued his education at the Poly-graphic Design Faculty of the Moscow-based Poly-graphic Institute. In 1975, he became member of UAP from Moldova and on the periods 1996-2000 and 2009-2012 he was member of the Moldovan UAP Senate.       

Dmitri Peicev participated in most collective representative exhibitions of Moldova and from abroad: Romania, Russia, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, etc. For his creation activity, the fine artist was awarded diverse prizes and distinctions: the Golden Medal in Japan for the portrait of conductor Stefan Andronic, Medal and Signet Tsar Simeon the Great of Bulgaria and other distinctions.      

The exhibition will be opened till 28 May.
