Ukrainian Culture Days to take place at National Library of Moldova

Chisinau, 9 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Ukrainian Culture Days will be held at the National Library (BNRM) on 10-12 May, in the context of the Ukrainian Culture Year in Moldova.
According to the organizers, more social and cultural events are scheduled on this occasion. Thus, on 10 May at 15:00, representatives of the Odessa-based National Scientific Library will pay a professional study visit to BNRM. The event will comprise professional discussions with the participation of specialists of both libraries.
An exhibition and event titled, Ukraine: between Peace and War (from collections of BNRM) will be inaugurated on 11 May at 10:00. The exhibition contains over 200 publications (monographs, albums, journalism, periodical publications, etc.), which are systematized in sections which show: Ukraine’s tumultuous past; outstanding Ukrainian personalities; way towards Independence; Ukrainian heritage, culture and art; Moldovan-Ukrainian relations; destiny of contemporary Ukraine; Ukraine’s European future; war in Ukraine; European solidarity in action. A donation of books on behalf of the Odessa-based National Scientific Library will be made at the event.
On the same day at 11:30-12:30, books translated from Ukrainian into Romanian, which appeared at the BNRM Cartier Publishing House, will be launched at the Pro-European Centre of Services and Communication. At the same time, a book titled, Ukrainian Borsch, will be presented at the same library and a meeting with its author Piotr Pogorzelski will take place. Attending the event will be writers, editors, representatives of the Polish Institute from Bucharest, BNRM, Odessa-based National Scientific Library. Also here, a creation workshop will be held for children, organized by the Polish Institute.
The Ukrainian Culture Days at the National Library will end on 12 May, with a roundtable titled, The values which unite us, in which specialists of BNRM and the Library from Odessa will take part. The event will be held starting from 9:00.
The 2023 year was declared Ukrainian Culture Year in Moldova.
