Moldovan police notifies electoral body from Gagauz autonomy about infringement committed by political party in electoral process

Chisinau, 9 May /MOLDPRES/ - The police today notified the Electoral Commission from the Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA) of Gagauzia about the actions and infringements found out in the electoral process, committed by a political party during the electoral campaign in the region.
„Among the actions set forth in the notification, there are the corrupting of voters, organized carriage of electors against payment to polling stations, placing electoral posters in banned places and payment of financial means for them from sources non-declared at the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), as well as other infringements which are incompatible with a democratic electoral process,’’ the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) said.
Officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), jointly with anticorruption prosecutors and employees of the National investigations Inspectorate (INI), on 7 May carried out more criminal prosecution actions, within a file on the corruption of voters by representatives of a political formation, in order to prompt them to vote for a certain electoral contender at the elections in UTA Gagauz-Yeri.
