Moldovan, Canadian officials broach cooperation

Chisinau, May 10. /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration had a phone conversation with the head of Canadian diplomacy Mélanie Joly. They discussed the preparations for the visit to Canada of President Maia Sandu, due on 11 May - the first visit of a President of the Republic of Moldova to Canada in the last 30 years, the MAEIE press service has reported.

The officials also talked about the positive evolution of bilateral relations and ways to strengthen our dialogue in the political, economic and social sectors.

"Also, we approached the European path of the Republic of Moldova and the significant progress in the implementation of the reform agenda. In this context, I thanked my Canadian counterpart for supporting the modernization processes of our country", said Popescu.
