Customs Service collected over 635 million lei last week

Chisinau, June 19. /MOLDPRES/-On June 12 - 18, the Customs Service collected over 635.8 million lei (about 31.7 million euros) to the state budget.

During this period, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeded the non-taxable limit, and payments totaling more than 19.8 million lei were collected, which represents 3.1% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.

The last week, 11,357 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 77,795 crossings. The most transited customs posts remain Leușeni and Sculeni, with 19,888 and 14,755 crossings, respectively.

In terms of the fight against fraud, 37 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 149 thousand lei were applied.

Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected about 15.1 billion lei to the state budget, 5.4% more compared to the same period last year.
