Moldpres marks 33rd anniversary today

Chisinau, June 20. /MOLDPRES/- Moldpres State News Agency today marks 33 years since its foundation. During these years, the institution had the mission of ensuring the production and dissemination of information, the publication and editing of official documents, informing the public opinion in the country and abroad on current events.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the director of IP AIS Moldpres, Petru Beregoi, sent a congratulatory message to the employees.
"Founded on June 20, 1990 following the liquidation of the Moldovan News Agency ATEM, "Moldpres" persistently acquired the status of the official "voice" of the country, which transmits to public and private institutions, print and audiovisual media, diplomatic representations and institutions international press written information and current photos. At this stage, we aim to transform the Agency into a modern media structure, by developing the services. It is important to keep up with the current media trends in the market and we are glad that, in this context, we have the support of partner agencies abroad. We sincerely congratulate the agency's employees, we appreciate the work and effort of everyone. We have what we are aiming for and I am sure that together we will succeed", said Petru Beregoi.
At the same time, the management of the agency announced that, in the context of marking the 33rd anniversary of the institution, a photo exhibition organized by IP AIS "Moldpres" will be opened at the National History Museum of Moldova in the evening .
"It includes unique photos from political, social, economic and cultural events, from the independence of the Republic of Moldova to the present day. We are looking forward to browsing Moldova's past together with "Moldpres", said Petru Beregoi.
Moldpres agency aims at ensuring the production and dissemination of information, the publication and editing of official documents, informing public opinion in the country and abroad on current events, state policy and the activity of public authorities, the provision of editorial and polygraphic services, the production of photo and video materials.
Subordinated at the initial stage to the Parliament, the Agency passed in 1994 under the management of the Government and became the only authorized publisher of the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova. In July 2001, Moldpres came under the State Chancellery of the Government of the Republic of Moldova. Over the years, the institution was led by Dumitru Ţara, Boris Marian, Mihail Belous, Ion Corețchi, Valeriu Reniță, Vlad Darie and Andrei Volentir, and since this January, journalist Petru Beregoi has been at its head.
So far, Moldpres has signed collaboration agreements with Ukrinform Agencies from Ukraine and ANSA from Italy, BTA from Bulgaria, AGERPRES from Romania, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the State University of Moldova. At the same time, discussions are currently taking place with the News Agencies of Greece, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia and Armenia for the conclusion of similar agreements.
