European Village programme: residents from north Moldova district to enjoy running water

Chisinau, 20 June /MOLDPRES/ - About 1,500 residents of the Hasnasenii Mari village, northern Drochia district, benefit from running water in households, following the completion of an infrastructure project included in the European Village Programme. The works were carried out with the government’s support and envisaged the construction of 22 km of water supply network and two water towers.
The overall cost of the project stood at seven million lei (350,000 euros) and the result will have a positive sustainable impact on the community, giving access to an essential service.
„The project from Hasnasenii Mari represents a concrete example of efforts made to improve the local infrastructure and enhance the quality in the country’s rural areas. The successful implementation of this project highlights the authorities’ commitment to bring real benefits to the communities and ensure better future for all citizens,’’ the National Office for Regional and Local Development (ONDRL) has said.
The European Village Programme comprises 496 projects on regional and local development and sees investments worth about two billion lei on the period 2022-2023. A number of 155 out of all projects approved regard the construction/extension of water and sewerage supply systems.
