Moldova to submit to European Commission updated contribution to 2023 Enlargement Package

Chisinau, 20 June /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has chaired a meeting of the Governmental Commission for European Integration, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Three subjects were on the meeting’s agenda: the approval by the Commission members of Moldova’s updated contribution to the European Commission’s Enlargement Package for 2023, the analysis of the European Commission’s recommendations, formulated on the application on the country’s accession to EU, as well as the developments in the enforcement of the increase for the fulfillment of the priority tasks in the context of the implementation of the requirements on accession to EU.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean welcomed the developments recorded in the process of coordination of Moldova’s contribution to the enlargement package and urged decision-makers involved in the implementation process to consolidate their efforts, in order to prepare materials at a high level of quality and meet the terms established.
„I demand the prioritizing of the subjects on the field of our country’s accession to the European Union. The efficiency of our central administration to provide the answers necessary to the European Commission will contribute to the boosting of the European integration processes,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.
Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu noted that, this time, Moldova’s contributions to the enlargement package were better. Also, Nicu Popescu stressed the need to nominate, at each institution, a representative due to deal exclusively with the European integration subject.
It is worth mentioning that, on 20 April, Moldova presented in Brussels the first contribution to the port on the European Union’s enlargement, which will be worked out by the European Commission till next October.
