Government approved: Moldova to have direct air flights to USA

Chisinau, June 21. /MOLDPRES/- Moldova will have direct air flights to the United States of America. This will be possible after the Cabinet of Ministers approved today an agreement between the Moldovan government and the US government on air transport, signed in Chisinau, on May 18.

Thus, for the first time, the Republic of Moldova and the USA have a bilateral Agreement that creates the necessary conditions for the development of air traffic between the two states.

The implementation of the Agreement will contribute to the creation of a single market for air transport between the Republic of Moldova and the USA, which will facilitate investments and the provision of air services without restrictions, including on the internal markets of the signatory parties. Premises are being created for the launch of direct flights from Chisinau to destinations in the USA, but also for the diversification of destinations from Chisinau International Airport.

Creation of an open aviation space with the USA will bring significant economic benefits to our country, by increasing passenger traffic, and by increasing competition on the domestic aeronautical market.
