Moldovan government establishes information system dedicated to management of authorizations of Authorized Economic Operator

Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/ - The procedure of asking for and getting the status of authorized economic operator (AEO) will be simplified and the time, costs and other resources related to the process will be reduced. The information system on the management of the authorization of the Authorized Economic Operator (SI e-AEO) was established by the government through the approval of the Concept SI e-AEO and the Regulation on the organization and work of SI e-AEO.     

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the system will allow visualizing the history, status of the applications and statistics in real time, as well as generating documents in digital format, with possibility of subsequent downloading and printing. The system is meant for the formation of the information resource as to the authorized economic operators, presenting the information to public administration authorities, private people and legal entities, customs authorities of other countries, in the order and way established by the legislation.   

The document approved contains also the clear regulation of the measures of ensuring the protection and security of the information included in the system, including the ways of counteracting the information dangers.  

SI e-AEO is developed and financed with the support of the Structural Reforms in Moldova Programme of the United States Agency for International Development.

Moldova is the first country of the region to get the mutual recognition of the authorized economic operators with the European Union starting from 1 November 2022. As many as 131 economic agents with status of AEO are certified in Moldova.
