Customs Service collected over 632 million lei last week

Chisinau, July 3. /MOLDPRES/- Customs Service collected over 632.4 million lei (about 31.6 million euros) to the state budget on 26 June-2 July.
During the period, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeded the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 20.6 million lei were collected, which represents 3.3% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
The past week, 12,170 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 80,899 crossings. The most transited customs posts remain Leușeni and Sculeni, with 21,047 and 15,273 crossings, respectively.
In the fight against fraud, 24 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 118 thousand lei were applied. Also, in June, 234 violations of customs legislation were registered and fines of over 820 thousand lei were applied, and since the beginning of the current year, 1,970 violations were registered and fines were applied in the amount of over 8.2 million lei.
In the first six months of the current year, the Customs Service collected about 16.3 billion lei to the state budget, up by 4.9% compared to the same period last year.
