National program on provision with blood products for next five years approved by government

Chisinau, July 5. /MOLDPRES/- Government today approved the national transfusion security program and provision with blood products for 2023-2027.

The document aims to improve the activity of the blood transfusion service in the next five years, with the supply and maintenance of the necessary stocks of blood products, ensuring their quality and security. More precisely, it is proposed to increase the quality management performance through the international accreditation of laboratories, as well as the training of specialists.

At the same time, the Action Plan for implementing the program stipulates the measures aimed at increasing the number of voluntary blood donors, mainly by carrying out information and education campaigns for the population.

According to the Ministry of Health, the estimated cost of implementing the Program is over 777 million lei (about 39 million euros).
