Chisinau, July 5. /MOLDPRES/- Citizens will pay less for the electricity. The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) approved today the new rates. Thus, consumers in the north of the country will pay 3.20 lei per one kwh, down by 0.38 lei than now. The tariff for consumers in the center and south of the country will be 2.57 lei, down by 0.42 lei.
The decisions were approved by ANRE following the examination of requests to reduce tariffs submitted by Premier Energy and the company "Furnizarea Energiei Electrice Nord" (FEE-Nord).
According to ANRE, the decrease in tariffs was determined in particular by the decrease in the prices of electricity procurement from the central supplier, reducing costs for the provision of electricity distribution services, in the case of Premier Energy and recording the tariff surplus, in the case of "FEE-Nord ".
The decision will enter into force upon publication in the Official Journal.
The last change in electricity tariffs was made in mid-April this year, when prices dropped by 5-6 percent.
