About 900 former patent holders switched to new activity regime in first two weeks after patent ban

Chisinau, July 17. /MOLDPRES/- About 900 former patent holers switched to a new regime of activity in the first two weeks after the prohibition of activity based on the entrepreneur's patent. The figures were presented today by Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization.
At the same time, 171 people requested compensation for the expenses for purchasing household appliances. "In the first two weeks, 896 former patent holders have already switched to self-employment. We are approaching 25% of the total. 171 people requested reimbursement of expenses. At least 50 people have already received the money through Moldovan Post Office", Dumitru Alaiba said.
He denied reports that the patent reform could be cancelled.
As of July 1, retail trade activity at stalls, counters, booths, kiosks, pavilions and from vehicles, as well as trade in domestic food products and easily perishable goods, is no longer allowed under the patent. To continue their commercial activity, taxpayers can switch to a simplified tax regime - independent activity or register in another organizational-legal form.
The former patent holders, who switch to independent activity, can request by August 31 a compensation of 10 thousand lei (500 euros), money that can be used for the purchase of the home appliance or the arrangement of the workplace.
