Chisinau, July 17. /MOLDPRES/- New members of the Government were sworn in a ceremony in the presence of President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean. Adrian Efros took over the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Andrei Spînu will lead the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, and Dan Perciun was appointed as Minister of Education and Research, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The head of state thanked former ministers Ana Revenco, Lilia Dabija and Anatolie Topală for managing important areas in a complicated period for our country. Maia Sandu emphasized the need to continue the reforms launched in education, infrastructure and internal affairs to speed up the transformations initiated for the benefit of citizens.
"We have to manage to deal with the current problems, we have to manage to transform the areas that you will manage from today onwards and we have to manage together to make enough reforms so that we can meet our medium-term objective, which is to join the European Union by 2030. And each of the areas you lead has very concrete and important responsibilities on this path", said Maia Sandu.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean wished success to the appointed ministers and talked about the tasks of the new leaders. "Education is the foundation of our society, that's why it's important to improve the quality of studies, and to be more efficient in allocating resources to increase the capabilities of teachers. In terms of infrastructure, it is necessary to speed up the implementation of projects, to reduce their cycle from initiation to exploitation and to make them more accessible to all localities in the country. Partners are ready to provide us with the necessary resources, we must have the ability to use them effectively. It is important to speed up the European Village program, with the possibility for more localities to access it. At the same time, in the internal affairs we have the task of reducing intervention time and increasing citizens' confidence in the institution - these two performance indicators will be monitored very carefully. Let's increase citizens' trust in the police, firefighters," said Recean.
