Moldovan president visits Pitusca locality

Chisinau, July 18. /MOLDPRES/- Last week, President Maia Sandu was in Pitușca, Călăraşi. Residents of Vărzăreștii Noi and Călărași also came to the meeting, who spoke with the head of state about the problems of the localities and the development projects in the region, the presidential press service has reported.
"One of these projects is the construction of the main aqueduct system Chisinau - Străseni - Călărași, which will start in the coming months. Upon completion of the works, the 53 km aqueduct will provide drinking water to more than 150 thousand people from Străseni and Călăraşi districts. The project is carried out in partnership with the German Federal Government," said the president.
The official said that the people of Pitușca are involved in the development of the locality. The Local Action Group, which represents a partnership of entrepreneurs from the village, civil society and the town hall - provided street lighting for part of the village, built a stadium and equipped a playground with sports equipment.
"The state also invests in the development of communities. This year, the Government supports 399 projects through the Express European Village Program, through which the sports and social infrastructure is improved, public lighting systems are installed and several public buildings are repaired. Also through this initiative, 46 cultural centers in different localities are renovated. In Pitușca, from these resources, the doors and windows of the cultural home will be changed. We will continue the modernization of villages and cities, so that citizens can enjoy better living conditions as soon as possible", said Maia Sandu.
