About 2,500 SMEs received state support of 850 million lei during one year

Chisinau, July 18. /MOLDPRES/- During the last year, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization, through the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA), offered financial support worth 850 million lei (42.5 million euros) for about 2500 small and medium-sized enterprises of Moldova.

The money was given to entrepreneurs as grants, financial guarantees, interest compensation on loans or subsidizing the costs of participating in exhibitions. Thus, the government's support has reached about 500 beginner entrepreneurs, but also active companies that aim to expand and modernize their businesses through digitization, greening or re-technological production processes.

Currently, the government through ODA supports domestic entrepreneurs through 15 business support programs financed from the state budget or from resources attracted from external partners.

According to the ODA, new support initiatives for entrepreneurs will be launched in the coming period, including programs dedicated to rural tourism, female entrepreneurship, small producers and the integration of domestic companies in value chains.

ODA was created in July 2022, following the reorganization of the Organization for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises.
