KFOR-19 contingent began mission in Kosovo

Chisinau, July 27. /MOLDPRES/- The peacekeepers from the 19th contingent of the National Army deployed in the KFOR peacekeeping operation have started mission in Kosovo.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the soldiers took over the duties of the peacekeepers from the 18th Moldovan contingent, during a transfer of authority ceremony, held in Camp Vilaggio Italia, Pech.
The 19th contingent of the National Army is made up of 41 professional soldiers, including seven generals and a platoon of 33 soldiers. They will perform the guarding and defense of infrastructure objects of strategic importance, missions to ensure the security of the Camp Vilaggio Italia base, including Visoki Dečani Monastery, as well as intelligence research and detection of explosive objects in the area of responsibility.
