MPs made amendments to 19 laws on social assistance

Chisinau, Aug. 17 /MOLDPRES/ - The social assistance reform was approved today by the Parliament in the second reading with the vote of 54 deputies.

The draft is the first step in the implementation of the reform called Restart and provides for changes in 19 laws. The document aims to improve governance and transparency in the social assistance system according to international standards in the field.

Thus, territorial social assistance agencies are to be created, which will ensure better coordination between the central and local levels in the implementation of social assistance policies.

It also sess the assessment of the need and planning of social assistance services at district level, the development of an integrated information system in the social assistance, the development of cost standards for social services.
