Deputy Prime Minister: 2023 diplomacy meeting - excellent opportunity to assess progress this year

Chisinau, Aug. 17 /MOLDPRES/- On the second day of the diplomacy meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted Prime Minister Dorin Recean, who spoke to ambassadors about the government agenda and the reform process in our country, the MAEIE press service has reported.
Importance of promoting the goal of joining the European Union and strengthening cooperation with EU member states in the political, commercial-economic and security fields was emphasized. Concrete measures adopted by the authorities to strengthen the economic sector, promote innovation and improve the investment climate were highlighted. Through these measures, the Republic of Moldova aims to create a favorable framework for a sustainable and prosperous development, for the benefit of its citizens. The ambassadors were encouraged to actively promote the Republic of Moldova as an attractive destination for foreign investors.
At the same time, the heads of diplomatic missions and consular offices participated in the discussion panel on the Moldova Support Platform, moderated by Sergiu Mihov, head of the bilateral cooperation department. Artur Mija, Secretary General of the Government and Cristina Gherasimov, advisor to the President of the Republic of Moldova in the foreign policy and European integration, were present as guests.
The management of consular affairs was the title of the discussion panel moderated by MAEIE secretary general Mihai Mîțu, with the participation of director of the Public Services Agency Mircea Eșanu and director of the Electronic Government Agency Olga Tumuruc.
The priority of the authorities is to simplify the interaction with the state, through the digitization of consular services. They will also continue efforts to negotiate and sign agreements to increase the level of protection of our citizens.
"The 2023 diplomacy meeting was an excellent opportunity to evaluate our progress this year, and to identify the aspects that require improvement in the next period", Popescu said.
On the sidelines of the ambassadors' meeting, Popescu gave press statements in which he referred to the most important topics addressed during the meeting, including the level of implementation of the nine recommendations, the successes of economic diplomacy, the export of goods to the EU, as well as exploring new markets.
