Supreme Security Council assessed situation in energy sector

Chisinau, August 18 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu on Thursday convened an ordinary meeting of the Supreme Security Council (CSS), and approached the country's energy security and preparation for the cold season, the presidential press service has reported.
CSS members spoke about the measures taken by the state institutions to provide natural gas and electricity in the next period, the progress of major investment projects in the energy field and energy efficiency programs.
Following the information presented by the relevant authorities, CSS members came up with several decisions and recommendations. The state must be prepared to ensure consumers continuous access to energy resources - gas, electricity, heating agent - in any conditions and regional context.
Through the efforts made by the authorities, the Republic of Moldova strengthens its energy security, and the relevant institutions, regardless of any scenario, will be able to deliver electricity and heat to citizens in the next heating season.
