Chisinau, August 18 /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the Law amending some normative acts (implementation of some considerations of the Constitutional Court Decision No10/2023 on control of the constitutionality of the Shor Party) were published today in the Official Journal and entered into force.
Thus, the members of political parties declared unconstitutional will not be able to be elected for a period of three to five years from the pronouncement of the Constitutional Court's decision.
Also, the Criminal Code was supplemented with two crimes - passive political corruption (claiming, accepting or receiving by a public person in the exercise of the mandate obtained as a result of the election of goods, services, privileges or advantages in any form to leave a political formation or to join another political party) and active corruption (promising or offering to a public person in the exercise of the mandate obtained as a result of elections goods, services, privileges or advantages to leave a political party or to join another political party).
The law enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal of the Republic of Moldova. The Central Electoral Commission, within 30 days from the date of entry into force of this law, will bring its normative acts necessary for the organization and conduct of elections in accordance with it.
