Moldova describes as regrettable Russia's decision on ban on entrance of official people

Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) has come up with reactions, after Russia established a ban on the entrance for some officials from Moldova.   

„The response decision of the Russian side is a regrettable one; it is not for the first time when the Russian authorities resort to such measures. Moldova stays firmly engaged in the counteraction of destabilizing actions. It is well-known the fact that the earlier decision by Moldova’s authorities of establishing the parity of the employees of the diplomatic missions of Russia in Chisinau and Moldova in Moscow was taken following multiple actions of interference with the domestic affairs of Moldova. The concerned measure meets the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations,’’ said Igor Zaharov, the adviser on communication of Foreign Affairs Minister, Nicu Popescu.    

Moldova’s Ambassador to Russia Lilian Darii today was summoned at the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry and was informed about Russia’s decision to ban some Moldovan officials from entering the country, as a measure of response to the cutting of the number of employees of Russia’s Embassy in Chisinau.
