Head of state says willing Moldova to become good, solid home for all its citizens

Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has participated in Diaspora’s Congress, at its tenth edition, the presidential press service reported.
„Today, I had a special pleasure to meet Moldovans who returned home. August is the month when the settlements of Moldova against become full of people, of children, of tables around which families gather. I thanked them for the fact that, each summer, they do Moldova whole and full of happiness, as well as for bearing Moldova in their souls,’’ the head of state said. The Moldovan president expressed gratitude for the Diaspora citizens for the fact that they promote Moldova – through the fact that they are good managers and correct and that, from far away, they get involved in the life of Moldova.
In her dialogue with Diaspora citizens, Maia Sandu referred to what the leadership had managed to do as to the problems tackled by the Diaspora last year. Thus, the consular fees were cut by 50 per cent and some public services were digitalized, the electronic signature now can be got at consular offices and some acts can be delivered through the MDelivery service. Also, the roaming agreement with the European Union was signed and starting from 1 January 2024, the tariffs will start decreasing. The electoral code was changed, in order to facilitate the voting in the Diaspora. The number of countries with which Moldova has social protection agreements has grown.
„Everybody, the people at home and those from the Diaspora want Moldova to become a good and solid home for all its citizens, from which they do not want to leave, where they want to remain. We will work together also in continuation, for this to become reality,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
