Head of top European bank's office in Moldova ends mandate

Chisinau, 18 August /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a meeting with the head of the office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Moldova, Angela Sax, on the occasion of the end of her mandate, the presidential press service reported.

The Moldovan president appreciated the contribution of Angela Sax to the stimulation of investments on behalf of EBRD in Moldova. The head of state praised the support provided by the Bank to carry out projects in the infrastructure field, backing the private sector and promotion of good practices for improving the investment climate.

The president thanked for the prompt assistance on behalf of EBRD to overcome the crisis situations. With EBRD’s support, Moldova invests in the energy sector and diversification of gas sources. President Maia Sandu said the leadership was further relying on support for developing the transport and energy connections with the European Union.
