Festival dedicated to National Beekeeper's Day organized in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 19 August /MOLDPRES/ - The National Association of Beekeepers from Moldova (ANARM) and the Association of Exporters of Apiarian Products from Moldova (AEPAM) today organize the festival dedicated to the National Beekeeper’s Day in the centre of the Moldovan capital.
The event is held on the Square of the Birth of God Metropolitan Cathedral from Chisinau. The 2023 year edition includes an apiarian fair. At the event, about 30 beekeepers from all regions of Moldova will propose more types of honey and derived apiarian products for tasting and sale.
Thermo-solar bee hives will be presented at the festival, which represent an innovating technology in the beekeeping sector.
Presently, over 6,500 beekeepers work in Moldova, who manage about 260,000 bee families. The best known types of honey produced in Moldova are the poly-floral honey, lime tree honey, acacia honey; there are also the rape honey, sunflower honey, lavender honey, buckwheat honey, sage honey and coriander honey.
Traditionally, Moldova annually produces about 5.5-6.5 thousand tons of honey and exports about 3,500 tons of honey. Preponderantly, the honey is sold wholesale, non-packed and is exported to EU countries.
