METEO: High air temperatures expected in Moldova this week

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ - Meteorologists have issued a Yellow Code of heat, valid all over Moldova on the period 22-28 August.

According to the State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS), on the aforementioned period, the air temperature will oscillate between +33 and +36 Celsius degrees in most regions.

In these conditions, physicians and meteorologists come up with more recommendations for the residents. They warn citizens to avoid, as far as possible, the long-lasting exposing to sun between 11:00 and 18:00, to wear sun hats, light clothes of natural linen with light colours, daily drinks between 1.5 and 2 litres of liquids, eat more fruits and vegetables. ‘’Take care of people depending on you (children, elderly people, persons with disabilities), providing them regularly with liquids, even if they do not ask you for them,’’ SHS said.

In case of Yellow Code, the weather conditions are potentially dangerous; the meteorological phenomena forecast are usual for Moldova’s territory; yet, they may temporarily become dangerous for certain social and economic activities.
