Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ - The Holy Trinity Hospital from the Moldovan capital has been subjected to a cyber attack. The general mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, made statements to this effect today. He asked the hospital’s leadership to verify whether the patients’ data was in safety and demanded the setting up of a department of information technologies at the Chisinau city hall.
According to the quoted source, a cyber attack against the information systems from the Holy Trinity Hospital has been recently recorded. The databases are crypted and money is demanded for their reactivation.
„I know that such cases took place at more institutions and according to the information I have, the Intelligence and Security Service has been already informed. Yet, I return to the demand to create a department of information technologies at the Chisinau city hall,’’ Ceban said.
The Holy Trinity Municipal Clinical Hospital has been working with status of medical and sanitary public institution since 15 December 2003.
