Memorandum in corruption combating sector signed between Moldova's National Anticorruption Centre and Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigation

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ - A Memorandum of Understanding in the field of prevention and combating of corruption has been signed by the director of the National Anticorruption Centre, Iulian Rusu, and the head of the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine, Oleksii Sukhachov.
According to CNA, the document’s goal is to ensure a close cooperation between the two institutions, including through exchange of information and good practices in the field of prevention and counteraction of corruption, investigation and denunciation of illegal acts related to corruption. The official event of signing took place in Chernivtsi, Ukraine.
Through signing the agreement, the sides expressed interest in the cooperation in the following priority sectors: exchange of information on legislation, education and other materials on the prevention, discovery, settlement and investigation of offences, as well as domestic investigations; exchange of good practices as to the investigation of offences and carrying out of domestic investigations; exchange of knowledge as to the top technological solutions, innovations, information applications and other instruments, used by each participant in the fight against criminal activities.
To ensure the prevention and efficient detection of criminal acts, the sides are set to encourage and back the direct cooperation through the implementation of joint projects and measures, in line with the terms and conditions which are to be jointly agreed upon. Also, under the document’s provisions, the participants will guarantee the protection of classified information, and at the transmission and use of restricted information, the sides will implement proper organizational and technical measures, in order to protect them against destruction, change, accidental or illegal revealing, as well as against any other illegal processing.
The agreement was signed for an indefinite period.
