Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved a draft law, which sees amendments to more normative acts which relate to the digitalization of the taxi-regime road transport.

The draft law is set to ensure the efficient use of the electronic system of management, placement and reception of orders and payments for the taxi-regime road transport services.

Thus, purpose is that the taxi transport services become more transparent, the payments for them should be made correctly and at the same time, the personal data of all citizens who use taxi as transport means should be protected.

The draft’s implementation will help identify and tax the really got incomes from the providing of taxi-regime services and to correctly inform beneficiaries about the tariff for one km and per one hour, the starting tariff or the cost of other auxiliary services provided, thus ensuring the turning more responsible of transport operators in the providing of quality services.

„We gave a positive notification to the draft law which better regulates the work of the taxi electronic platforms. We will not tolerate the submission of data of our citizens abroad. At the same time, for more financial transparency, providers will be obliged to legally register in Moldova. This step will make more responsible the operators who provide taxi-regime transport services and will provide quick and correct services for all citizens,’’ Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu said.

Also, decision-makers make proposals on sanctioning for the presentation of delayed or deliberately erroneous quarterly information about the carrying out of road transport in taxi regime.
