Chisinau, 22 August /MOLDPRES/ - The first electric bus with dynamic charging, which autonomously moves 70 km and meets all international standards in the field, has been produced in Moldova. The electric bus was assembled by engineers of the Informbusiness Company, specialized in the production of electronic equipment for transport, which is exported to more than 170 countries, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Attending the event on presentation, held in the Magdacesti commune, central Criuleni district, Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked the people involved in the project’s implementation. He pointed out their dedication and involvement in the development of a key sector for the country’s economy. According to the PM, the project is significant on more dimensions – economic development, fostering of the sector of electronics and the dimension of electrification, as the assembling of an electric bus is a concrete action, in the context of the transition to the green energy. ‘’The project implemented is a beginning for the increasing of this industry. I encourage everybody to persevere and produce innovations in Moldova,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.

For his part, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba stressed that the government would further back the producers who develop diverse branches of the economy: ‘’Due to your effort, the automotive industry gets a new breath and Moldova becomes a machine-producing country. Your success is the success of the entire country.’’

Energy Minister Victor Parlicov stressed that about 35 per cent of all energy from Moldova was consumed by transport and the simplest way of de-carbonizing the transports is its electrification. ‘’We become a country which does not only consume, but also generates advanced technologies. At the same time, we give our young people a perspective of integration in modern sectors, earlier inexistent in our country,’’ Minister Victor Parlicov said.

The founder and head of the Informbusiness enterprise, Vitalie Esanu, referred to the company’s achievements and the intention to develop the business in continuation. This year, the enterprise will deliver the first 25 electric buses with autonomous movement in the Balti municipality.

The company will also export to Ukraine, Romania and other countries, where there is demand for such transport means. On long term, the company’s founder is set to build a plant for the assembling of electric buses in the Truseni village, Chisinau municipality.
